Anxiety attacks most likely are not life threatening although they may really feel as though they are. However if they tend to be on going and recurrent panic or anxiety disorder they are often crippling for the victim.

Sufferers may well not realize when a panic attack may occur and therefore start to avoid going out (agoraphobia) or refrain from certain scenarios in which they think they could experience a panic attack. Not knowing whenever a thing as crippling as an anxiety attack could manifest can have serious negative interpersonal, financial and relationship side effects if they continue to happen.

In the case of a panic attack, physical reasons are generally eliminated first. Sometimes the sufferer could have been to many doctors believing they have got a terminal disorder which has never been identified. As soon as physical causes are ruled out, the proper treatment method may be advised and management of anxiety attacks can begin.
