Power Savings and Utility Bills

In a tight economy that seems to have a stranglehold on our livelihoods and finances, finding creative ways to save money and reduce expenses have become a preoccupation in many a home.

So the pressure is on to reduce our monthly utility bills. In doing so, it is tempting to look ONLY for the the big stuff – the one or two huge changes or technologies that will drop our bills quickly.

Though desirable, if we limit ourselves to grand ideas only, we’ll miss the very simple ones that help us realize power savings at home over the long term.

By simple, I mean cutting back on water usage, walking or biking when driving a car really isn’t necessary, turning off lights when not using a room, etc. Simple, not grand. But the savings add up over time.
