Timeshare Exchange Companies
When you are looking at timeshares for sale make sure you consider exchange companies. Different timeshare resorts are associated with different exchange companies.
The two big exchange companies, II and RCI, need at accept a resort before they allow exchanges. Sometimes a resort is a member of both exchanges, but not always. If you are already a member of one exchange company you want to make sure your new timeshare is a member of that same company.
The big exchange companies charge an annual membership fee and then a fee to exchange. Paying memberships to multiple companies can get expensive.
Besides the big two there are a multitude of exchange companies that only require fees when you exchange. If you only exchange every few years you can save a bundle by dropping your annual memberships.
