Is there any Indian food that isnt spicy?

One of my family members doesnt like spicy food but I love eating in Indian restaurants. And as a result we cant go to an Indian restaurant together. So is there anything that they could order that wouldnt be spicy?

The menu will indicate which foods are spicy, and you can even ask them to make the dishes non-spicy. Off the top of my head some non-spicy things are chicken korma (mild curry), saag (spinach), samosas (fried vegetable dumplings), tandoori chicken… it should be easy to find things they will like.

No! Indian food is spicy. If your family member doesn’t like spicy food, then he/she does not deserve the joy of eating Indian food.

if you tell the hostess not to make the food really spicy then you can get a mild indian dish..but u see indian cuisine is suppose to be spicy..

u can practically make all the dishes as spice-less as you want! The indian breads and yogurt-based curries are not spicy. U can definitely special-order your dishes and tell them specifically to cut-down on the spices!

mmm… they could try kormas. They are usually quite sweet made from cream and ground nuts. Also, a similar curry is badami Pasanda.
Pulau which is usually just rice and peas is also quite mild.
Biriyani is rice and meat bake. The meat may or may not be spicy you would need to ask the waiter.
Butter chicken and paneer makhani can also be sweet but sometimes people use butter chicken and chicken tikka masala interchangeably. and tikka masala sauce is spicy in comparison.
Potato Pakodas are not spicy (they are an appetizer). But onion Pakoda can be spicy. Methi and Aloo Parotas (stuffed flat bread) are also not too spicy.
    Hope this helps.

Most of the restaurants will ask you for the spice level when they take your order. If you ask them to make it very mild, they will do so.

Besides that some of the non-spicy food in general are,

    Appetizers: Veggie Samosas, Aaloo tikka

Most Dosas are non-spicy. The soup that comes with it could be a bit spicy but it’s up the you if you want to have it or not

Tandoori chicken is very mild to begin with…
